Black and White Flowers

There is something about the look a flower takes on when it is photographed in black and white. In some cases it takes on a metalic look and at other times it can look alilen. What I like it that it allows you to appreciate the form and not be overwhelmed by the color.

A Christmas Story

I like to take random photographs. This is especially true at family gatherings as well as post hunting get-togethers. The photographs tell a story without words. Not only are they personal keepsakes for an album but they are meant to be shared with others to tell them the story of the happening that occurred. My family shudders when I pull out my camera and start shooting when they least expect it; however, they all admit that they like the end results and cannot wait to see the finished project. Here is an example of my randomness; see if you can read the story. -- Scott Hendricks, photographer

Falls Park "Winter Wonderland"

The Sioux Falls and Falls Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota provide some wonderul sculptures for the camera after Thanksgiving each year. We don't mind braving the cold and the snow to capture some of the beauty. The city puts on a "Winter Wonderland" light festival. The first scene is taken from the observation tower looking down on the Overlook Cafe. Scene number two is taken during a snow storm from the observation tower looking across the city skyline at St. Joseph Cathedral. Scene three is from above the falls catching the light from the light-show glistening off the snow and highlighting the flowing water. Scene four is again taken from above the main falls looking at the visitors center and observation tower with the hue of blue light. ** To view in larger format click on each photograph **
